My passion for landscape design is deeply ingrained, a gift passed down from my mother. She imparted the wisdom that nurturing a garden allows it to nurture you in return, offering places for reflection, observation and renewal. Her own garden, a blend of vibrant greens and delicate white blooms, is a testament to her dedication and love. One of my favorite sounds is the joy in her voice when she announces every spring, “My daffadowndillies are waking up!”
My uncle, John Marsh Davis, also inspired me to enter this field. His remarkable career as an architect and landscape designer captivated me endlessly. At an early age, I was exposed to the importance of balance, symmetry, and structure by running around in his gardens. I remember climbing up to his drafting table and being mesmerized by his meticulous hand renderings, each one a blueprint for what would become iconic homes, wineries, and gardens throughout the Bay Area.
Today, as I create my own gardens, I continue to draw inspiration from their tapestries while focusing on sustainability. I view Landscape Architecture as a unique problem-solving tool that serves to improve environmental and human well-being through thoughtful design. My interests include water management, residential garden design and community-based design.
